Karachi Kings Squad 2020 Overview
Karachi Kings squad 2020: The team was brought to life all the way back in 2015 when the first edition of Pakistan Super League came around. Karachi Kings is owned by ARY Group’s Salman Iqbal. Despite being around for so long the team has failed to find its momentum despite their efforts the team has not been able to put up a good showing, especially, in the points table. The team has been in a tough spot since the 2015 season mainly due to the fact that it has spent a considerable amount of resources to help with their case but none of it has helped.
In the last season, Karachi Kings announced that they’d decided to bring in Premier Pakistani cricketers Shahid Afridi in a bid to help overcome their nightmarish woes but even Afridi could not do anything with the overall standing of the team in the points table.
The team is coached by the ex-New Zealand player Brandon Macullum, he has been a positive addition to the team since he has brought with him years of cricketing experience along with a modern mindset when it comes to strategies and pulling off plays. Brandon Mcculum has several international accolades to his name and over the years has established himself as a reliable opener.
The New-Gen Players
Over the course of 5 years, Karachi Kings has produced players who have gone on to play in the national side for Pakistan and this is turn has led to showcasing of talents who otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance to show that the immense amount of talent that they possess.
Imad Wasim the captain of Karachi Kings, too, has been one of the players who have been brought up by Pakistan Super League. Imad Wasim has been trying to effectively captain his team to a League win but has been unsuccessful so far.
Babar Azam, one of the most prolific batsmen that Pakistan has had for quite a few years plays ,for the Karachi Kings and has been a successful player in the national side for Pakistan. Babar’s consistent performances have earned him a great deal of respect among the critics of the game, with his strong strike rate and his ability to stand his ground on the pitch has led to him being a constant pick for the national side.
Usman Shinwari, a right-arm fast bowler, too, has been one of the most relied upon bowlers for the Karachi Kings side, with his ability to swing the new ball and bowl with a consistent pace has led the Pakistan national side’s selectors to pick him to play for the national side. Even though, Shinwari is picked on and off again to play for the Pakistan team, this has not stopped him from showcasing his talents to the world.
Mohammad Rizwan is another such player who has gone on to feature in the national side for Pakistan. He is a batsman with an ability to keep to keep the strike rotating and has been a reliable player for all the teams that he has played for.
